Accessibility

The Nordic World Ski Championships is for Everyone! We want everyone to have the best possible experience during the championships.

Our goals

Our goals for making the the Ski World Championships accessible to all include:

  • Everyone should feel welcome regardless of ability.
  • Those with cognitive disabilities should experience real facilitation and inclusion.
  • New technologies and innovative solutions should maximize accessibility.

Ski-VM 2025 is the first sports event, and the first outdoor winter event, to qualify for this Accessibility Mark.

Allow Plenty of Time

Remember to leave some extra time for travel to the arena so that you don’t miss the competitions you want to see. Some stands may fill up, reducing the availability of seating in areas with induction loops or access to interpreter services. Weather and surface conditions may also make additional time necessary.

Tickets and Companion Passes

Ski-VM 2025 is collaborating with Ticketmaster to offer accessible tickets and companion passes.

  • Those who need a companion but do not require access to the accessible area can purchase a regular ticket and receive a free companion ticket.

The code for purchasing companion tickets is LEDSAGER.

Accessibility

Accessibility at the Stands

HC seating will be available on the S-stand in the cross-country stadium and on the D-stand in the ski jumping stadium. We recommend that those requiring sign language interpretation purchase tickets for the S-stand (S2 and S3) in the cross-country stadium. No sign language interpretation or captioning will be provided in the ski jumping stadium.

Step-free access will be available between the cross-country and ski jumping arenas. The distance is approximately 400 meters, and rest benches will be located along the route. Rest benches will also be available near some of the seating areas designated for people with mobility impairments.

Sign Language and Captioning

Sign language and captioning services will be available in Granåsen on every competition day except February 26 (the day of the qualifying events) and February 27 (the day of the mixed team Nordic combined relay). Sign language interpretation will be available for cross-country events and the cross-country portions of Nordic combined. Neither sign language nor captioning will be provided for the ski jumping events since most of the information will be provided on the screens. We have discussed these prioritizations with user organizations.

Again, sign language interpretation will take place at the S2 and S3 stands in a marked area within the induction loop zone.

Captioning will be available to anyone on a mobile screen through the “Text on Tap” service.

Induction Loops

Induction loops will be available in the cross-country stadium at the S-stand in Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 (with partial coverage). In the ski jumping arena, they will be available in Section A (marked at the venue) and at the D-stand. There will also be induction loops at the Litjåsen stage, the FanZone stage, and the VIP tent stage.

Individual Needs

Those with combined vision and hearing impairment can submit requests for individual interpreter/companion services through NAV Hjelpemiddelsentralen.

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms will be available throughout the championship venue and near the accessible stands. These restrooms will be marked and signposted. No HC changing rooms will be available at Granåsen.

Transport

Ski-VM, in collaboration with AtB, will ensure that bus services to Granåsen are accessible to everyone. There will also be rest benches along the route between the bus stop at Kongsvegen and the championship arena.

Please note that you would need to put in your order for accessible transportation in good time before your arrival.

Special Transport Services

A dedicated transport service will be available for those needing accessible transport, including those with mobility impairments, HC parking permits, and other movement-related challenges.

Shuttle service will be available from Kastberga, which is located between Lundåsen and Ringvål. Parking will be available there, with shuttle transport by maxi-taxi to the arena.

For those unable to transfer to a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, separate parking will be available in Granåsen through a reservation system.

Medal Plaza

Medal Plaza will have a dedicated HC platform. Sign language and captioning will be provided for the opening ceremony, and efforts are being made to provide the same services for all medal ceremonies.

The induction loops at the venue will be identified with signs and marked on the arena map.

Parking in the City Center

Parking in the city center will be limited, but additional HC parking spaces will be available. We recommend using public transport to reach the city center whenever possible.

Physical Ticket Sales

Physical tickets will be sold at the Information Desk at Trondheim Torg daily from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. During the championships, it will also be possible to purchase tickets at the arena.

Please note

  • Accessible seating is limited, so we highly recommend planning your visit well in advance.
  • We ask that those with specific needs please contact us as early as possible.
