Food and beverage

During the 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, there will be an exciting and diverse selection of food and drinks featuring local products. You’ll find delicacies from Trøndelag both at Granåsen and at our Food Street by the Medal Plaza in the center of Trondheim.

Trøndelag is a unique food region with world-class producers. In 2022, Trøndelag was named the European Region of Gastronomy, a title awarded to regions that promote local food across the entire value chain. The region's distinctive soil and climate give ingredients a unique flavor, which you can experience through more than 30 different dishes – from fjords to mountains.

The SULTEN Public Tent in the Fanzone

"Sulten” means “Hungry” in Norwegian, and in this tent you can buy food and drinks from across the region of Trøndelag – from local delicacies to snacks. There will be breakfast for earlybirds, as well as a variety of large and smaller dishes.

This includes mussels, game meat, vegetable dishes, soup, baked goods, and desserts. With 30 different dishes on the menu each day, there is something for everyone! Here you can also warm up while waiting for the next competition – or waiting for the next bus back home.

The food selection in the public tent includes many producers representing different parts of Trøndelag – from the coast to the mountains, from inland to the open plains. Here, you can taste your way through Trøndelag!

Why Focus on Local Food and Beverage?

Locally produced food is a key part of our ambition to host the most sustainable Nordic World Ski Championships ever. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Trondheim 2025 aims to provide great value to the region’s producers while offering visitors a taste of our fantastic flavors and dishes made from local ingredients.

Athletes, supporting staff, press, volunteers, and officials will also enjoy a variety of local dishes throughout the championship. 4,000 hot meals are served “backstage” in Granåsen every day, along with snacks. Some of the snacks include World Championship Chips from FrostaChips and waffles made with batter from Galåvolden Farm, a unique sustainable waffle using food by-products and flour from four different regional farmers.

Each region has its own special day during the championships, featuring cultural performances, medal bearers, and regional specialties served to athletes and the press. We are proud to say that local products will be on every plate!

We look forward to giving you a delicious experience at the 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships!
