Accessibility

We want everyone to have the best possible experience during the championship. Here, you'll find everything you need to know about accessibility during the Championships.
Finishline to cross-country skiing

We aim to set a new standard for accessibility at outdoor winter events. Here are the goals for our accessibility efforts:

  • Ensure everyone feels welcome, regardless of their functional abilities.
  • Provide genuine accessibility and inclusion for people with cognitive disabilities.
  • Leverage new technology and innovative solutions to enhance accessibility.

The 2025 Ski World Championships have been awarded the Accessibility Mark, becoming the first sports event and outdoor winter event to achieve this recognition.

Allow Plenty of Time

Plan to arrive at the venue well in advance to ensure you can attend the competitions you wish to see. Some grandstands, such as areas with induction loop access or near interpretation services, may fill up quickly. Weather and road conditions may also require extra time.

Tickets and Companion Cards

The 2025 Ski World Championships are collaborating with Ticketmaster to provide excellent solutions for accessibility tickets and companion tickets. Those requiring a companion but not necessarily needing access to designated accessibility areas can purchase a standard ticket with a free companion ticket.

Code for purchasing companion tickets: LEDSAGER

Accessibility at the Grandstands

Designated accessibility areas will be available at the S Grandstand in the cross-country arena and the D Grandstand in the ski jumping arena.

We recommend that those requiring sign language interpretation purchase tickets for the S Grandstand (sections S2 and S3) in the cross-country arena. No sign language interpretation or captioning will be available at the ski jumping venue. There will be step-free access between the cross-country and ski-jumping venues, with a distance of approximately 400 meters and rest benches along the way. Additional rest benches will also be available in some grandstand areas designated for individuals with mobility impairments.

Sign Language and Text Interpretation

With two exceptions, sign language, and text interpretation will be available on all competition days in Granåsen.

Sign language interpretation will be provided at the S2 and S3 Grandstands, with a marked area equipped with an induction loop system.

Text interpretation will be accessible to everyone on their mobile devices via the Text on Tap system.

Note: Cross-country events and the cross-country portion of Nordic Combined events will feature interpretation services. Jumping competitions will not have sign language or text interpretation, as most information will already be displayed on screens. These decisions have been discussed with user organizations.

Interpretation will not be available during the qualification events on February 26 or the mixed Nordic Combined relay on February 27.

Induction Loop

Induction loops will be available in the following areas:

Cross-Country Stadium: Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the S Grandstand.

Ski Jumping Arena: Section A and the D Grandstand (marked in the venue).

Other Locations: Stages at Litjåsen, the Fanzone, and the VIP tent.

Individual Needs

Those requiring individualized assistance, such as interpretation or guiding for combined visual and hearing impairments, can arrange this through NAV Assistive Technology Services.

Restroom Facilities

Accessible restrooms will be available throughout the championship venues, including near the designated accessibility grandstands. These will be marked and signed. Please note that there will not be dedicated changing facilities for accessibility needs in Granåsen.

Transportation

The Ski World Championships, in collaboration with AtB, will ensure that bus services to Granåsen are accessible to all. Rest benches will be placed along the route from the bus stop on Kongsvegen to the championship venues. Details about general bus services and specific accessibility arrangements will be shared in January.

Dedicated Transportation Service

A special shuttle service will be available for individuals with mobility challenges or accessibility needs, including those with HC permits.

The shuttle service will operate from Kastberga, located between Lundåsen and Ringvål, where parking will be available. From here, maxi-taxis will provide transport to the venue.

A booking system for this service will be ready by mid-January.

For those unable to transfer their wheelchair to the transportation provider's vehicles, parking will be available directly in Granåsen.

Medal Plaza

Medal Plaza will feature a designated accessibility platform. Sign language and text interpretation will be available during the opening ceremony, and we are working to extend this service to all medal ceremonies.

Induction loops will also be available at the venue, with details marked on signage and maps.

Parking in the City Center

Parking in the city center will be limited. Additional HC parking spaces will be made available. We recommend using public transport to the city center whenever possible.

Physical Ticket Sales

Tickets can be purchased at the "Information Desk" at Trondheim Torg from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
