Litjåsen Family Area

SpareBank 1 SMN campen

Litjåsen is the perfect place for families who want an unforgettable World Championship experience, close to all cross-country and Nordic combined competitions, except the cross-country sprint and the men’s team competition in Nordic combined. Here you’ll find a ski play area, fire pits, a kiosk, a stage, and a big screen. And best of all – Litjåsen is home to Snedi!

WSC Litjåsen

Children shape Litjåsen

AktiVM has involved local elementary schools in the design of the family area at Litjåsen. Pupils are contributing creative ideas for activities to be held and how Snedi’s house should look. This makes Litjåsen a place created by and for children, with fun activities the whole family can enjoy.

Ski play

Daily ski play and activities for children are organized here, with exciting experiences for both young and old. In the Litjåsen Activity Park, you’ll find newly upgraded areas where children can have fun. SpareBank 1 SMN lends skis to those who need them, and there are also sledding hills with the option to borrow sleds.

Big Screen and Stage

You can stay updated on all the championship action on the big screen and watch live coverage of the final sprints while enjoying family time. There will also be a stage where Snedi will perform the popular song “Vinga,” along with other entertainment throughout the day.

Facilities

Bonfire Pits and Lavvus
The area will feature several bonfire pits where you can grill your own food. There will also be lavvus available for warming up, along with plenty of seating in the outdoor areas.

Kiosk
The kiosk will offer COOP coffee, chocolate, Frostachips, sausages, and burgers from Gilde, as well as fish cakes served on a fork.

On March 8th and 9th, during the men’s and women’s 50km races, warm soup will also be sold.

Hjertevafla – Exclusive to Litjåsen
Litjåsen is the only location during the WSCs where you can enjoy Hjertevafla from Røros, served on a stick. This unique waffle, developed by Anita Galåen and Galåvolden Gård, has a special story and a sustainable profile. The waffle batter is made with whey, a byproduct from Rørosost production, combined with eggs and milk from the farm and locally sourced barley flour from Trøndelag.

Hjertevafla has already made a name for itself, from Grüne Woche in Berlin to RAW Air and the Nordic Combined World Cup – and now as the official waffle of the WSC. Topped with award-winning vanilla cream from Tverås Gårdsmat, Hjertevafla delivers a flavor that’s truly an experience in itself.
